DEPUTIES COMMENDATIONS
THREE DEPUTIES RECOGNIZED
DANVILLE- Hendricks County Sheriff Dave Galloway recently recognized three deputies for their actions during a police action shooting that occurred last month. Deputy Josh Faith received the Medal of Valor for returning fire and disabling the suspect who had fired a shotgun at him and another deputy as they attempted to speak with him. Captain Clarke Fine received a Letter of Commendation for his role as on-scene negotiator and involvement in the apprehension of the suspect. Deputy Chuck Jones received a Letter of Commendation for his assistance in removing the suspect’s mother from the residence to safety as shots were fired. Sheriff Galloway commended all three deputies for an outstanding job. “The actions of these deputies during this incident are in keeping with the highest standards of the law enforcement profession and I am very proud of their courage under dire circumstances,” said Galloway.
DEPUTIES RECOGNIZED
DANVILLE- Three Hendricks County Sheriff’s Deputies were recognized recently for their assistance in the investigation and arrest of robbery suspects in the town of Avon. Avon Police Chief Jack Miller presented certificates of appreciation to Deputies John Brown, Charles Tyree, and Brian Petree for assisting the Avon Police Department with apprehending suspects wanted for stealing a purse from a woman at the Walmart store in Avon. “This type of cooperation is what we strive to do in all matters of mutual concern,” said Sheriff Dave Galloway. “The public we serve reaps the benefits and I am proud of these deputies for their work assisting Avon officers on this case,” added Galloway.
DEPUTIES RECEIVE COMMENDATIONS
DANVILLE- Hendricks County Sheriff Dave Galloway recently recognized two jail deputies for their quick response in saving an inmate’s life. The deputies discovered an inmate in a life threatening situation and rendered emergency first aid until an ambulance arrived. “The actions of these two deputies were crucial in saving this inmate’s life and I’m proud of their efforts and professionalism during this stressful event,” said Sheriff Galloway.
DEPUTY COMMENDED
DANVILLE- Hendricks County Sheriff Dave Galloway recently recognized a deputy for his efforts while responding to a suicidal subject. Corporal Frank Harris was dispatched to the scene of a suicidal subject and upon arrival continually communicated with him until he gave himself up without further incident. The subject was transported to a stress center for treatment. “Corporal Harris did a great job handling this volatile situation which could have resulted in the subject injuring himself or others”, said Sheriff Galloway.
DEPUTIES RECEIVE COMMENDATIONS 10/04/10
DANVILLE- Hendricks County Sheriff Dave Galloway recently recognized three deputies for their efforts during a short ceremony in his office. Deputies Brian Petree and Sam Chandler were commended for their efforts during a traffic stop on I-70 where they made two arrests and seized 18lbs of marijuana with a street value of approximately $20,000. Deputy Jeff Hughes was commended for his efforts during the apprehension of a violent suspect wanted on a warrant. “I am very proud of the efforts that these deputies put forth each and every day to keep the community safe”, said Sheriff Galloway.
DEPUTY RECEIVES COMMENDATION 10/04/10
DANVILLE- Hendricks County Sheriff Dave Galloway recently recognized a deputy for his role in the apprehension of a bank robbery suspect. Corporal Scott Larsen was commended for his efforts in locating a suspect involved in a bank robbery in Avon. Cpl. Larsen found the suspect and his vehicle in a nearby neighborhood and was able to take him into custody. “Cpl. Larsen did a great job patrolling the nearby areas trying to locate the suspect”, said Sheriff Galloway, “and I am proud of his efforts that led to the apprehension.”
DEPUTY AND K9 RECEIVE COMMENDATION 10/04/10
DANVILLE- Hendricks County Sheriff Dave Galloway recently recognized a deputy and his K9 partner for their efforts in the apprehension of a suspect wanted on a warrant. Deputy Kyle Schaefer and his K9 partner Axel were commended for their role in the apprehension of a suspect wanted on a warrant who became violent and resisted arrest. The suspect physically resisted both the officers and the K9 during the incident but was eventually taken into custody. “Only the force required was used to take this suspect into custody and I’m proud of the manner in which the incident was handled”, said Sheriff Galloway.
